"SEQUOIA" A RETREAT FOR THOSE WHO LOVE DANCE & WOODS

If you love dance and woods, you're in the right place! This retreat (now in its second year) will be a unique opportunity to immerse yourself through dance - in this case, free and contemporary - in a direct relationship with the earth, plants, and trees. Each day will be filled with guided and creative explorations, taking place both indoors and outdoors. The research will focus on intimately listening to nature, seeking rootedness, embodying the elements of the forest and its messages, contemplating the invisible and that "something" we perceive in contact with trees but we cannot define, and much more. Study sessions will be intertwined with moments of well-being, and there will be plenty of practices such as meditation and forest bathing.
The retreat is open to people with any level of experience.
The idea comes from the Sequoia project, which I've been working on for about three years. It's both a contemporary dance choreography duo and a research program consisting of workshops and retreats open to groups of people who love dance, woods and wellness. This project's sponsors are PlantsPlay, Olfattiva, Vaia, and the Settore Nazionale Forest Bathing.
When and where
The retreat will be held from September 4 to 6, 2026, at the Pian della Castagna holistic farmhouse, located in the municipality of Bosio, in the province of Alessandria (Piedmont). Surrounded by nature, the farmhouse is used exclusively for residential seminars and is nestled in the splendid Ligurian Apennines. Just over an hour from Milan and Turin, and about an hour from Genoa, its 700 meters above sea level offer a panoramic view of the entire Alpine range, from Monviso to Monterosa. Hospitality
The package includes full board (accommodation, breakfast, lunch, and dinner) with a vegetarian menu and local produce. If you have any allergies or intolerances, please inform us when you register. Accommodation is in double or triple rooms; bathrooms are inspired by the hostels on the Camino de Santiago and are shared with other participants. Rooms will be divided into male and female, unless otherwise requested. Towels and a hairdryer are provided upon arrival.
Costs per person
• Dance fee with earlybird discount: €160 (from May 25th the dance fee will be €210)
• Accommodation fee: 90 euros (45 euros per night)
• Food fee: 40 euros
• Total cost: €290 (from May 25th the total cost will be €340)

Other information
Spots are limited and registration will close once 22 people have registered.
To reach the Pian della Castagna holistic farm, you can arrange to travel by car with other retreat participants, both there and back. The same applies to those traveling by train; the closest station is Arquata Scrivia, a half-hour drive from the farm, and in this case, too, group car transfers can be arranged to easily reach Pian della Castagna.
