HUMPHREY-LIMÓN TECHNIQUE

A professional training event combined with the magical and introspective experience of the retreat, where we will delve deeper into the Humphrey-Limón technique through both practice and theory, fruit of many years of study and research. The days will be rich in content and the program will be a true journey. Each class will be part of a larger journey, leading us to understand and deepen the technique, its principles and Doris Humphrey's theory of the arch between two deaths. Study sessions will be intertwined with wellness, taking place both indoors and outdoors. We will pay attention to nature, cultivating an intimate relationship and deep listening with her, because it is in this listening that the roots of technique and movement lie. A certificate of attendance will be issued at the end of the retreat.
To participate, it is recommended to already have a good technical training in contemporary, modern, or ballet. The retreat it is open to anyone who wishes to expand their professional background or simply to those who wish to delve deeper into the Humphrey-Limón technique out of curiosity and passion.
When and where
The retreat will be held from July 24 to 26, 2026, at the Pian della Castagna holistic farmhouse, located in the municipality of Bosio, in the province of Alessandria (Piedmont). Surrounded by nature, the farmhouse is used exclusively for residential seminars and is nestled in the splendid Ligurian Apennines. Just over an hour from Milan and Turin, and about an hour from Genoa, its 700 meters above sea level offer a panoramic view of the entire Alpine range, from Monviso to Monterosa. Hospitality
The package includes full board (accommodation, breakfast, lunch, and dinner) with a vegetarian menu and local produce. If you have any allergies or intolerances, please inform us when you register. Accommodation is in double or triple rooms; bathrooms are inspired by the hostels on the Camino de Santiago and are shared with other participants. Rooms will be divided into male and female, unless otherwise requested. Towels and a hairdryer are provided upon arrival.
Costs per person
• Dance fee with earlybird discount: €160 (from May 25th the dance fee will be €210)
• Accommodation fee: 90 euros (45 euros per night)
• Food fee: 40 euros
• Total cost: €290 (from May 25th the total cost will be €340)

Spots are limited and registration will close once 22 people have registered.
To reach the Pian della Castagna holistic farm, you can arrange to travel by car with other retreat participants, both there and back. The same applies to those traveling by train; the closest station is Arquata Scrivia, a half-hour drive from the farm, and in this case, too, group car transfers can be arranged to easily reach Pian della Castagna.
